The Shahediyeh cohort study includes population aged 34-70 in Shahidieh area of Yazd. Shahedieh was
selected for this study based on some criteria such as the availability of the people,
no immigration to other cities, uniform and intact ethnicity, the cooperation
of the indigenous people, and the facilities of the area. The study was started
after establishing the cohort center and equipping it with human resources in cooperation
with various departments such as health centers, medical professionals, local
doctors, schools, relevant training departments, and national cohort officials.
In this study age, sex, lipid profile, fasting
blood sugar, HbA1C, OGTT, brachial plexus index, myocardial infarction, stroke,
liver tests, thyroid tests, complete blood cell count (CBC), uric acid, diets findings,
lifestyle and demographic characteristics were evaluated.
