Credit Course Introduction
Introduction 
 
The Office of Development of Medical School Education has started its activities since 2002 with the aim of improving the quality of basic and clinical science education and in order to increase the level of knowledge and efficiency of faculty members and students based on the needs of society and in line with the goals of the Center for the Study and Development of Medical Sciences Education of Shahid Sadoughi University of Medical Sciences, Yazd. 
 
Mission of the Office of Educational Development (EDO) School of Medicine 
-Improving the level of education by empowering faculty members to new knowledge of education,
-Educational planning and monitoring the implementation of educational programs and reforms,
-Improving the implementation of educational evaluation,
-Conducting research in education and needs assessment and using the opinions of faculty members and students interested in education. 
 
Goals
1- Empowering faculty members to new knowledge of education.
2- Participation in educational planning and reforms.
3- Encouraging and persuading faculty members to conduct research in education.
4- Improving and implementing educational evaluation.
5- Forming and expanding teacher training courses based on needs assessment in collaboration with EDC.
6- Using the scientific participation of faculty members and students interested in education.
 
Duties

1. To play an active role in providing advice on the implementation of research projects in the field of education and the implementation of new methods of training and evaluation in order to develop the quality of the teaching and learning process.
2. Participate in holding faculty empowerment workshops designed by the Center for Education Studies and Development, or proposed by the Center for Development and approved by the Center for Education Studies and Development, using the facilities of the respective faculty.
3.  At the end of each semester, the exam questions of the faculty members of the respective faculty are collected and evaluated with the help of the review committee of basic and clinical science exams based on the formal evaluation forms and the results are given to the members up to one month after the end of the exams. The faculty should report confidentially and submit the final report to the university and EDC officials.
4. The lesson plan compiled by the esteemed faculty members is collected up to one month from the beginning of the semester and with the help of the members of the Development Office, based on the review form compiled by the Center for Education Studies and Development, the results are reviewed for up to one month. After the beginning of the semester, report to the faculty members and submit the final report to the university and EDC officials.
5.  Supervise the Faculty Skill Lab.
6. Form a student branch and have direct supervision over its activities.
7. Play an active role in evaluating the performance of faculty members based on the degree of participation in developing the quality of education.
8. Design and oversee faculty educational evaluations and make executive and corrective suggestions to the EDC and the College Education Council.
 9. Guide educational reforms in the content of educational programs and teaching methods.
10. Examine the educational needs of faculty members in various fields.
11. Collaborate with EDC to design and implement training courses in various fields such as teaching skills, research and evaluation.
12. Examine research priorities in education and participate in the design and implementation of these researches.
13. Use the participation and opinions of educational groups and students in improving the level of education.
